DESCRIPTION

By placing a bid on this site, you attest that you have read, understand, and agree to be bound by the following Terms & Conditions:

Place your bid for the highest amount you are willing to pay for the individual lot. Caring Transitions will increment your bidding based on other bidders’ activity so that you may win the lot for the lowest amount allowable.

Don’t wait for the last minute! If bidding activity occurs close to the time a lot is scheduled to close, extra time is added to allow all bidders a chance to win the lot. If identical bids are placed on a lot, the first person to place the bid will be awarded the lot, if that is the high bid.

Reserve amounts must be reached for lots to be sold, if there are reserves. Any “buy-it-now” price is a temporary, limited time offer that may change or disappear at any time.

Caring Transitions may modify the Terms and Conditions of any auction at any time and without notice at its sole discretion.

1.   All bidders must be at least 18 years old to participate.

2.   Placing a bid constitutes a contract to pay up to the full amount of your bid.

A lot is any item or group of items sold together for one price. Please do not bid on any lot if you are unable or unwilling to pay the full amount you bid for that lot. Failure to pay for a lot constitutes a default on this agreement, which is fully entered into by placing a bid.

3.   Bidding privileges across all Caring Transitions auctions nationwide may be suspended if you default on this agreement.

4.   Everything is sold “As Is, Where Is”

Lots contain personal and household items that have been used. Expect items to show varying signs of use and wear. We make reasonable efforts to show or describe defects or damage, but bidders are responsible to examine details closely and ask any questions before placing bids. By placing a bid, you attest that you accept the condition of all items in the lot as is, and you will pick up all items in all lots you win where they are.

5.   No warranties are given or implied.

Caring Transitions cannot guarantee usability or authenticity of any item within lots. Caring Transitions does not guarantee the working order of any clock, watch, electronic or mechanical device. 

6.   All sales are final. No refunds or credits will be issued.

7.   Ownership of all items in a lot transfer to the winning bidder when payment is made.

All responsibility for those items, including security, transportation, care of condition, etc., belongs to the buyer. Refunds and credits will not be awarded by Caring Transitions for items lost or damaged after the sale.

8.   An invoice will be generated for auction winners shortly after the auction ends.

Please wait for Caring Transitions to email you a copy of your invoice. The invoice will provide the purchase amount, including any additional fees, the address for picking up your purchase, and the date and time of pick up. If you place bids on more than one lot, please wait until bidding closes for all lots you bid on. If you win more than one lot, your invoice will show all your purchases.

9.   Additional charges will appear on your invoice

A 15% Buyer's Premium will be added to the winning bid. If shipping is requested, additional fees may also appear on invoice.

10. Customers must pay for won lots by the payment deadline

Customers who have not paid by the posted date/time forfeit any claim to their won lots, and those items may be sold to another bidder or otherwise disposed of. Exceptions to this rule will only be made if the customer has contacted us by phone before the payment deadline to make other arrangements which are agreeable to all parties. Caring Transitions is under no obligation to meet any special requests.

11. Payment must be made with Credit Card

You may make payments online by entering credit/debit card information. Payment must be processed by the payment deadline noted above. Please do not pay online with an "eCheck"/checking account, as that method of payment can delay the processing of funds beyond the payment deadline.

You may call and request to schedule a cash or check payment in person. Cash or check payments will only be accepted if payment is received in person before the payment deadline. Caring Transitions is under no obligation to meet any special requests.

12. Customers must pick up items from all lots at the appointed time/location

Items that have been paid for but not picked up by the end of the pickup period will be considered abandoned and will not receive a refund

Requests for alternate pickup date/time may be made by contacting us directly before the pickup period ends. A staffing fee may apply to any alternate pick up arrangements. Payment will be required at time of request. Caring Transitions is under no obligation to meet any special requests.

Note: Alternate schedules may require moving items to another location. If this is required, additional handling and third party fees may also apply, and will be payable at time of pickup. These fees are considered part of the purchase price of your lot(s). Failure to pay these fees may result in forfeiting your claim to won lots, even if you have already paid the prior purchase price. No refunds or credits will be issued as there will be additional cost for Caring Transitions to dispose of your forfeited items.

Items not picked up during alternate schedule and/or location will be considered abandoned and you will not receive a refund. You may be deleted from our national database, at our sole discretion.

13. Bidders must provide their own vehicle to transport all items from lots won.

Caring Transitions does not offer delivery. Please be sure to bring a large enough vehicle to safely transport your winning items away. (Dimensions and weights are approximate.)

14. Bidders must be prepared to lift, carry, and load their own purchases.

You must bring your own padding, boxes, totes, tools, straps, dollies, etc. to pack and secure your items in your vehicle. Items may be on multiple floors of a home, so be prepared. Please bring enough help to lift, carry, and load your items. Caring Transitions employees will escort you to your purchase(s), but they cannot help you move or load your items.

Please be considerate of the seller’s home and property. You are responsible for any damage you may cause. Caring Transitions is not liable for damages or injury caused by you removing or transporting items.

15. Shipping

Lots are sold for local pick up only. You may request Caring Transitions facilitate shipping select items if you are out of town, but fees may be added. Caring Transitions is under no obligation to provide shipping services.

Contact us before bidding to confirm that the items can be shipped. All shipping charges are determined by the carrier. Please be aware that shipping charges may cost more than what you paid for your lot.

For larger furnishings, fragile or high value items, or a larger volume of items, Navis Pack and Ship will provide quotes through their website (https://www.gonavis.com/landing/caring-transitions). They may send a representative on site to estimate cost for packing and shipping. Caring Transitions must be scheduled to facilitate this visit. Fees will apply.

Note: Shipping options involving third-party pickup may require moving items to another location before the third party can be scheduled. If this is required, additional handling and additional third party fees may also apply. All added fees will be payable before shipping can be scheduled. These fees are considered part of the purchase price of your lot(s). Failure to pay these fees may result in forfeiting your claim to won lots, even if you have already paid the prior purchase price. No refunds or credits will be issued as there will be additional cost for Caring Transitions to dispose of your forfeited items.

For smaller, less fragile items, Caring Transitions may transport your items to UPS upon your request. You will work directly with UPS to pay them directly to pack and ship your items. Please contact UPS before bidding so you know the estimated cost. (Dimensions and weights are approximate.) If you abandon your items at the UPS store, the shipper may charge you a disposal fee.

Caring Transitions may initiate shipping up to two weeks after the close of the auction.

16. Postponement or Cancellation

Caring Transitions reserves the right to withdraw, cancel, or postpone any Auction or individual sale at its sole discretion, without notice. Caring Transitions will have no liability to prospective bidders resulting from any withdrawal, cancellation or postponement.

Each Caring Transitions office is locally owned and operated. These Terms and Conditions are valid only for users of Caring Transitions of the Pioneer Valley auctions, and do not apply to users of any other Caring Transitions office.
